Stacey Sherwood and Jeff Hall
A Tennessee spring wedding at Whitestone Country Inn
0

When Stacey came to book with us, she knew where her wedding was going to be and what the date would be. She just didn’t have a ring yet. He hadn’t proposed.

She knew what she was looking for and how to go about getting it. She was already in conversations about lighting the reception so it had the right atmosphere. She certainly didn’t come across flakey or odd, so it didn’t seem like I was being lured into an American Muriel’s wedding situation.

I was definitely curious to know how and when this guy Jeff would eventually put her out of her misery! Perhaps over Christmas? He already had an annual family trip to Costa Rica booked, so it wasn’t going to be then. Perhaps New Year’s?

Well, Christmas morning there was a ring on the doorbell over at her parent’s house, and of course there he stood. Stacey was speechless, since she’d just been talking to Jeff in Costa Rica, the night before, on the phone. She couldn’t figure it out! Carrying gifts for everyone, he came into the house and everyone unwrapped. The first gift for Stacey …. well, that was him being there Christmas day … but she first unwrapped a  t-shirt, which is a running joke/theme. The second gift was a bible, with her name inscribed …. only, it wasn’t her name … it was his last name … and this took a moment to register. When she looked up at him, in front of her mom and dad, he then pulled out the small velvety box and asked, “will you be my wife?”

Of course she said yes! On Saturday April 10, 2010 Stacey and Jeff tied the knot at Whitestone Country Inn. Great weather, incredible florals by Lisa Foster and a beautiful bride! All the best to Stacey and Jeff. For all the images visit our web site  www.seatonshoots.com/previews.

Robin Jones and Matt Milsaps
A Knoxville Spring Wedding Reception at the Foundry
0

Robin had a leaky skylight …called a roofer to come have a look.. at that point she really didn’t know Matt would end up her husband several years later. Many moons later.. (and of course the roof was fixed) Robin and Matt decided to make it permanent. They enlisted the help of Patty Szabo- Fowler (who many of you know from her column in the paper). Patty rang and asked if we had the date available. Well.. I’m  ..back in the saddle again… so to speak.. along with the help of Don and Melissa Fields.

It was the first warm day of spring. Full blue skies, wow everybody was really glad winter was over… and what a great way to celebrate!  We started at Salon Visage, then makeup at MediSpa. After arrived at the church, Don and Melissa took loads of fun images of Matt and the guys while I hung with Robin and girls getting ready.  Robin hung with us and continued to look radiant as we did all the images before the ceremony.

Party at the Foundry! which was right around the corner from the Ceremony at Second United Methodist Church. Patty and Robin had planned and designed a grand affair. Great Flowers by Sam Franklin and cake by First Fruits Catering. Great music, great weather, great food and great friends and family.. all the best to you guys! – Sarah Lynn Seaton

Aleyna Bryant and Mickey Langlais
a Spring wedding at Bleak House
0

When I asked Barry to tell me about Aleyna and Mickey he sent me a very long story that Brian Graham had written about them. I pulled just a few choice quotes that .. well wow are really special. The below is what Aleyna said to Mickey ..

“Michael Roger Langlais…you are my best friend.  You are the first and only guy that I’ve ever been completely myself and completely comfortable with.  I knew you were the one for me when I saw that I could act the way I do around my family with you.  My family members are the closest people in my life and I never hold anything back with them.  So, if I was acting that way around you, then I knew you were the one for me.  We’re not afraid to tell each other what we’re thinking and feeling, and because of that, we are both mutually respectful and aware of each other’s feelings.  We have the same beliefs and life goals. God seriously did bless the road that led us straight to each other. You are my best friend and I can’t wait for all the adventures our life will take us on!”

When it was Mickey’s turn a few more tears came to my eyes… I can only wish that both of my daughters will be as lucky to have  someone like Mickey to share their life with. All the best to Aleyna and Mickey. You certainly are off to a wonderful start.– Sarah Lynn Seaton

“You are everything a man could ask for.  You are my means of support ever since we have been together, either as my friend or my girlfriend. Through thick and thin, you have done whatever you can to make me happy, and I am truly blessed to have you in my life.  Your love for God is awe inspiring and a true motivation for me, something I desire strongly for my wife.  You are beautiful.  Still, every time I see you, I have to do a double-take.  I cannot believe I am still this lucky to have a woman like you.  You are perfect in every sense of the word.  I know that no matter what happens to me, you will still be there by my side, supporting me, loving me, and cherishing me.  I hope you know that I will be there for you too, no matter what happens and where life will take us.  I am the most blessed man in the world.  I love you Aleyna.”

Whitestone Country Inn- Bridal Show March 2010 0

Barry headed out to Paint Rock on March 7, 2010 for the yearly Bridal Show at Whitestone Country Inn. Great weather helped to bring a crowd who came to see the location and what wedding services Whitestone offers. To book a date, take a property tour, or find out more, contact Deneise Lane, Events Coordinator, at (865) 376-0113 ext 1557 or Tonja Page, Assistant Events Coordinator, at (865) 376-0113 ext. 1554. To view more images of a wedding at Whitestone click here.

Barry brought a overloaded gift basket from  the Mast General Store. Many thanks to the staff there.. especially Mel’s mom, Teresa, who made it possible!!. What  I didn’t know was that the Mast has a bridal gift registry. What a cool idea! if you already have your china and other “dressy” type items check the Mast out. I try not to take the girls in there as I always find something I can’t live without.

Slip into a Sleeve- Wedding dresses with sleeves are BACK in style 0

This post is course NOT from Barry. About the only thing he shops for is camera gear and well camera gear… oh.. chips and beer.  While I really love the strapless look… This is for all the brides  that need something to hold up their dresses  ( ie me  .. sarah lynn seaton aka Barry’s wife). Amen that sleeves are coming back into style!! Love to hear some thoughts from Brides that are dress shopping.

Reposted from Wedding Aces thanks to Jessica

Classic and timeless, finding a gown with long sleeves has been no easy task! Thankfully, that traditional style element is making a comeback, and brides who dream of never seeing another strapless gown again are heaving a collective sigh of relief! At their most flattering when constructed of light, malleable fabrics such as lace, organza, chiffon and dupioni, sleeves subtly turn up the volume on style.
