Trevor Bayne-Best Man at Crescent Bend Wedding

Two years ago Trevor Bayne was chosen to be the best man in his uncle’s big day, his Knoxville wedding at Crescent Bend historic home. This weekend fate appeared to choose Trevor to win the Daytona 500, shocking the NASCAR world, and himself. I imagine those around him, who know him well, while ecstatic, are perhaps not too shocked.

Sunday night we were watching the Knoxville local news and Lynn recognised a name. While our family is not particular fans of NASCAR, there was a lot of buzz about a local boy having won the big race, out of the blue. Names and faces are not one of my strengths, but some details do manage to stick, and I remembered a nephew who was pursuing a dream in car racing was enough for me to know it had to be him. Going back through the wedding photographs to see if I had many, any, I had forgotten that Trevor was the best man in Anthony and Jenn’s wedding. At age 17, he was best man. Clearly someone ahead of his years. What also shows through in the weddings photographs, is what has everyone excited about locally. This is “a good kid” who knows how to have fun and ham it up, and also when to switch it off. Reading the local press, since age five Trevor has lived, breathed and dreamt car racing, making some tough decisions and sacrifiices at an early age, with some amazing family support. He has also grown up with a couple of cameras and microphones not too far away, perhaps explaining the ease and comfort he displayed around the media frenzy for his”overnight success”. A more deserving Best Man it would be hard to find.

Hot, hot and hot! Did Mel say that Eric’s dad brought towels and had them in a cooler for the groomsmen to cool their faces with? What a great wedding idea for a summer wedding! Needless to say.. Shayna looks incredible awesome in the wedding images and everyone was a total trooper for all the photo taking at Crescent Bend!! Shayna and Eric’s wedding was definitely a family event! Her brother, who is a minister, performed their wedding vows. Eric’s brother also took part in the wedding ceremony and sang during the service. Great flowers by Jenny and Leonard at Always in Bloom. Jim Ogle got the music rolling and All Occasions Catering put out a splendid fare of yummy things to eat.

Megan and Matt McGlothlin booked Seaton Shoots Wedding Photography in February of 2009 and during their engagement we have gotten to know them not just as clients but as friends. Megan planned and organized so many special touches for their wedding day. An outdoor ceremony location at the Knoxville Convention Center, cool gift bags, runners, special lighting by Divine Decor and super fun bridal portraits.. just to start. Many of you may know that Matt McGlothin was a big part of UT football. Needless to say Megan incorporated a lot of orange from the University of Tennessee into the wedding day. The “Kerr Team” was there handling the video and music during the ceremony. And Paramount DJ and Dance got the party rockin’. Melissa Wilke and Jessica Grubb– our team of wedding photographers all worked together to get some incredible images. Thanks guys… Best wishes! You guys are off to a wonderful start.

Knoxville wedding St. George Church + Fox Den

St. George is an amazing church to photograph. Great color and incredible design. What was even nicer was how Russell proposed.

From their wedding site in Russell’s words:
200 tea candles, two dozen red roses and two boxes of rose pedals. Sounds pretty romanic to me.. Once 6:45 came around I lit the tea candles and waited in her bedroom with the door shut and no fan on. I did not take into account how much heat 200 tea candles would put out!!! She saw everything and walked even slower into the room… making me all the more nervous. I winged my speech, figuring from the heart would be the best way to make this moment special. I got down on one knee and asked… she didn’t miss a beat and said “Yes!” We hugged for a moment… then she asked if she could go wash her hands before putting the ring on. We had a good laugh then decided to go blow out the candles… it was really hot in there!!!

Robin Jones and Matt Milsaps A Knoxville Spring Wedding Reception at the Foundry

Robin had a leaky skylight …called a roofer to come have a look.. at that point she really didn’t know Matt would end up her husband several years later. Many moons later.. (and of course the roof was fixed) Robin and Matt decided to make it permanent. They enlisted the help of Patty Szabo- Fowler (who many of you know from her column in the paper). Patty rang and asked if we had the date available. Well.. I’m ..back in the saddle again… so to speak.. along with the help of Don and Melissa Fields.

It was the first warm day of spring. Full blue skies, wow everybody was really glad winter was over… and what a great way to celebrate! We started at Salon Visage, then makeup at MediSpa. After arrived at the church, Don and Melissa took loads of fun images of Matt and the guys while I hung with Robin and girls getting ready. Robin hung with us and continued to look radiant as we did all the images before the ceremony.

Party at the Foundry! which was right around the corner from the Ceremony at Second United Methodist Church. Patty and Robin had planned and designed a grand affair. Ian Howard and Beth Eason A wedding @ Second Presbyterian Church

THE DOG.. Not a wedding image but he was part of the day and one of the big things that Barry does is tell the story of the wedding day. Yes he can take fashion- inspired images and yes we can retouch images so they look vintage BUT.. what really matters is the story behind your wedding day. New Year’s Wedding was the perfect start of the new decade for Kristen Firestone and Michael Dees. Love the floral design. Great flowers! purple with a mix of creme tones …. by Always in Bloom. The bride wore a simple but elegant dress. I was told by Jim Ogle of Ogle Entertainment that fun was had by all when he got the music going ….fun group of friends. Rachelle Keck and Justin Marion- A Downtown Knoxville Fall Wedding

I don’t usually get to know the grooms very much at all but Debbie and I got really used to Justin popping by the studio to chat and keep us up to date on the progress of their big day. Since they live just up the road from us I hope we have some new found friends to go out with!!

Mel was on board for the rehearsal which was at the Great Southern Brewing Co. in downtown Knoxville. Justin is a bit of a beer afficionado so the place was apropo!! Seems as if a great time was held by all.

On to the big day which took place at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and then on to the Crowne Plaza right after the ceremony. Bella Fiori Florist arrived with beautiful bright fall colors that complemented all the details that Justin and Rachelle had put together.

Lots of fun details, Converse shoes worn by the groomsmen, great CD put together by Justin and all around good time had by all!! The icing on the cake .. so to speak was the groom’s cake by Peggy of Magpies. Is it a cake or a Guinness?

ok.. why did Barry end up with so many pictures of you guys kissing? Guess you are off to a great start!! All the best. SLS
